Scrunchies

Before washing, comb gently, with a wide tooth comb, your fingers or you can even use a wig brush to remove any tangles.
Wash in cold water using a mild shampoo (the baby type is good)! Saturate the hair and gently dip up and down in the water.
Gently massage the hair to work the lather taking care not to tangle the stands.
Do not rub or twist.
Then rinse in cold water.
Lightly blot the excess water with a towel and dry flat.
Don not attempt to brush until completely dry.
A good quality spray in conditioner can improve the look once the hair has fully dried.

Braids & Sculptured Pieces

As above but obviously do not try to comb as this may ruin the shape.

Further care for synthetic Extensions, Hair Pieces and Wigs

Before washing, brush thoroughly to remove any tangles.
To do this grip hair tightly and gently brush from the bottom and then work your way up the entire hairpiece to the top.
Please note any clips should be closed and gripped with the fingers.
Then wash in cold water using a mild shampoo (baby type is good)!
Once the hair has fully dried, a good quality spray in conditioner can improve the look and help prevent the ‘fly’ing effect.
Store with clips closed to prevent tangling
Note:

If a curl has previously been applied straight synthetic extensions will return to being straight after washing

Wavy extensions may retain some of their curl even after washing but may need a boost with rollers.

Curling, Setting & Heat

It is generally recommended that any curl you would like to apply should be set wet using cold water and left to dry overnight and naturally. Heated rollers may be used, but please be careful! Do not apply a strong heat to synthetics as this may damage the item Also we stock most items in straight, wavy or curled so please visit our shop.

To Set or Reset a curl if you have heated rollers you can use the following method…

Use heated rollers in combination with some tissue wrapped round the rollers or better still with a heat protection spray.
It is best not to use the hottest setting.
Style hair as desired but always first do a test piece to make certain that the rollers are not too hot.
Wait until the hair is completely dry, and then take out the rollers when they have completely cooled. This is as the heat will bend the fibres.
Otherwise do a wet curl with plain rollers and leave to completely dry naturally
Note: Do not use tongs or straighteners on synthetic hair as this damage the piece

Our own brand heat protection spray is available at…

Tangled or Matted Extensions

If you've been out on a big night and forgotten to remove your extensions (we've all done it girls)! Then the best method to detangle long hair extensions is thus...
If you hold the hair piece tightly and just above the where you are brushing. Start to work up from the bottom to the top. Moving one hand at a time. This will completly free any tangles just like normal Hair. Also please note a new piece may shed some strands at first few wearings.

Human hair Wigs and Extensions

Essentially you can follow the same directions as for the synthetic type; however it is advisable to take more care when brushing them

They may be washed and styled using tongs or curlers but should be treated gently, as you would your own hair. Remember this hair will not grow back!

The more care that is taken the longer they will last, and the more fun you will have wearing them.

When washing,

You can use tepid water on real hair.
Do not rub or twist.
Gently squeeze the shampoo from the clips to the ends
It is recommended that you air dry, but if a hair dryer is used it should be on a low setting.
Storage

How do I store my wig?

If you have one the best way to store your wig is on a wig stand. This not only helps prevent your wig from becoming tangled between wearing, it will also allow it to maintain its shapeAlternatively If you do not have a wig stand always store your wig turned inside out and place flat in an old shoe box or the like. . Extensions and Human Hair should be stored in a clean, dry place, away from dust and sources of high heat or flame.
